One of several internal inconsistencies in the Qur'an concerns the subject of jinn, and particularly the way in which Allah dissuades these jinn from hearing the recitation of the Qur'an in heaven.
Jinn are special beings, created from fire. Satan is a particularly noteworthy jinn who was rejected from the presence of Allah for refusing to bow down prostrate before Adam as commanded. And herein is one of many inconsistencies. If worship is to be reserved for Allah alone (Sura 98:5 and dozens of others), why did Allah command all the host of heaven to prostrate themselves before Adam and Eve (Sura 7:11)? Every Muslim knows prostration is symbolic of worship; they prostrate to Allah five times daily. Yet the angels were commanded to prostrate to Adam and Eve.
There is another inconsistency concerning jinn. Jinn are predominately spiritual beings, though they can manifest physically at times.
In the Qur'an we find verses which seem to suggest that Allah chases jinn away from hearing the recitation of the Qur'an in heaven. He does so by throwing meteorites, or brightly burning rocks, at these eavesdropping jinn.
"It is We who have put constellations in the heaven, decked it with stars and made it fair-seeming for the beholders; and We have guarded them from every accursed shaitan. Any shaitan that steals a hearing, there follows him a bright flaming fire." - Sura 15:16-18
"We have indeed decked the worldly heaven with beautiful stars and to secure it against all obstinate rebellious shaitans. They cannot even hear the words of the exalted assembly of angels and they are darted at form every side if they try to get closer; they are repulsed and are under a constant chastisement. Eavesdroppers are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness." - Sura 37:6-10
These are but a few of the inconsistencies we will document on this site.
