In the early hours of January 1, a horrifying attack took place in Ozoir-la-Ferrière, Seine-et-Marne, France, that sent shockwaves through the community and ignited a debate about media reporting and immigration. A 75-year-old woman was brutally raped in her own home while her bedridden and disabled husband was unable to intervene. The suspect, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and residing illegally in France, had been arrested but was released as police lacked sufficient evidence to definitively connect him to the crime. Instead, he has been placed in an administrative detention center (CRA) due to his illegal status in the country.
The horrifying incident unfolded at around 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day when the African man entered the elderly couple’s home through a poorly secured window. He first entered the husband’s room, causing the bedridden and disabled man to scream in terror. Tragically, his condition prevented him from intervening.
The illegal African then proceeded to the wife’s bedroom, where he subjected the 75-year-old woman to a nightmarish ordeal, forcing her into unprotected sexual intercourse, physically assaulting her, and eventually demanding money, to which the victim handed over a 50 euro note before the attacker fled the scene. According to police sources, the suspect allegedly assured the septuagenarian that he did not intend to harm her before making explicit and distressing demands, resorting to physical violence when met with her refusal, and violating her. Ultimately, he also stole money from his traumatized victim before making his escape.
In a state of shock and distress, the septuagenarian promptly contacted her son after the incident, who immediately sought help. The victim was taken to Jossigny Hospital for emergency medical care, where she is currently hospitalized.
The investigation into this heinous crime remains ongoing, with authorities working diligently to gather evidence and build a case against the alleged perpetrator. However, as of now, the Melun public prosecutor’s office has refrained from disclosing any specific details regarding the individual in custody.
